Would you like to experience for yourself what it is like to float weightlessly like an astronaut?
You can do this on a "zero-gravity flight" or "parabolic flight".
Astronauts are weightless in space. To prepare themselves on Earth for that weightlessness, they regularly undertake parabolic flights.
The Space Training Academy organizes parabolic flights, including preparation.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
During our parabolic flights, you first climb steeply (you then become 2 to 3 times heavier) before diving down, during which you experience weightlessness for 10 - 15 seconds. This manoeuvre is repeated 5 to 7 times.
Duration: 1 full day
Location: Amsterdam Airport
A medical examination is not required. You do however need to complete and sign a general medical questionnaire. Minors require written permission from their parents.
This is a premium exercise at a higher price level.
It is one of the modules of the complete private astronaut training, but you can also book it separately.
We start with a half day course about the basics of human factors and situational awareness. This will then be followed by a snack – it’s important, after all, that you don’t go on the flight on an empty stomach.
The flight will be done in a Cessna Citation jet and takes about an hour, during which 5 to 7 parabolic manoeuvres will be performed. During each manoeuvre you will be weightless for about 10 - 15 seconds.
Thereafter there will be a short ceremony.
Are you ready to take the challenge?
